Wilkinson Primary School

Wilkinson Primary School contacted us to develop their nursery area. The school wanted the area to be an eye-catching, engaging space for the children, and required equipment suitable for very young children that would aid development of a broad range of skills, while also encouraging them to build upon their natural curiosity.

DESIGN
It was important that we created an area that was both challenging for the children but also somewhere that would encourage them to play, explore and develop. Due to the nursery setting, we wanted to choose a selection of equipment that could be used alongside lessons and guided activities as well as during playtime. We decided to install our Storytelling Area to give the children a place that could be utilised for outdoor learning activities. We also selected our Waterplay Mini to encourage sensory play and problem solving. As a focal point for the area, we selected our Carousel Midi tower from our popular Carousel range. This tower covers all seven areas of development and makes the perfect addition to Early Years playground, boasting a variety of play features. To ensure that the playground complies with all British and European safety standards, we installed a mixture of artificial grass and Wetpour safety surfacing with an inlaid roadway design. This created contrasting textures to encourage the children’s sensory exploration.

INSTALLATION
The installation at Wilkinson Primary School was a really great project to work on as it allowed us to transform a relatively blank area into an engaging and inspiring area for the children.
It was not without its challenges, in particular the transformation from the existing surface to a safer all weather surface and the adverse weather conditions during the installation process, but our install team overcame all difficulties to deliver a high quality new playground that we’re all very proud of.
