NASAT Church Lawton School

Cherry Tree Avenue, Church Lawton, Stoke-on-Trent, Cheshire, ST7 3EL

Coloured Bar

Church Lawton School is a specialist autism school. They currently had no playground equipment and wanted to incorporate physical play and thermoplastic markings across two areas. One area was to have low level trim trail equipment with safety surfacing and the other area was to have challenging climbing equipment & thermoplastic markings.

DESIGN

When given a proposal with special requirements it faces us with a great challenge, the area of development was a reasonable size and the school already had an idea of the equipment they desired. We provided some of our most popular trim trail products with green Wetpour Safety Surfacing laid underneath to provide all weather use and ensuring the playground met the BSEN1177/1176 standards.

Thermoplastic markings were also added, as well as a road way design with zebra crossing and traffic lights to incorporate imaginative play. For the more challenging climbing equipment requested we provided our Jungle Climber Combi with Blue Wetpour safety surfacing again to meet safety standards and allow all weather use. A seating area was also added to allow rest between active play, including our Picnic Tables with Game Tops!

INSTALLATION

With Church Lawton School being a school for children with autism we had to work around the school term times to ensure there was no disruption to the children.

We installed the equipment whilst the children were not there and met the timescales requested. There were a lot of elements to the playground development and provided the installation team a varied challenge to which was achieved with great results! The children absolutely love their new play area!
