Lakeside Community Primary School wanted to revamp their existing EYFS playground. They were open to suggestions but wanted to focus on providing both education-based and exploratory-based play opportunities. They also wanted to extend and expand the play space and utilise more of the area.
Working with Lakeside Community Primary School was great as they were open to different ideas. Together we knew we wanted to focus explorative-based sensory items as well as incorporate products that could be used during lesson times. We decided to include our Timber Sandbox, Mud Kitchen Mini and Waterplay Combi to provide a variety of sensory play opportunities while items such as our White Board, Chalkboard and Weather Station would be great for outdoor learning. Our Jungle Climber Midi was also included to expand the existing play space and provide age-appropriate physical play opportunities.
We used a variety of playground safety surfacing at Lakeside to zone certain play spaces as well as provide a pathway across the whole space. Our Artificial Grass, Wetpour and Rubber Mulch Safety Surfacing work well together, providing a contrast in colour and texture while providing colourful, all-weather play surfaces.
The wide variety of equipment and surfacing transformed the area into a vibrant and engaging space, providing the children with fun and challenging pieces of equipment.
Due to the complexity of this project it was essential that all involved worked effectively together to create a successful development. The finished playground look fantastic and are a credit to everybody involved throughout the process.
