Rydes Hill Prep School
The staff at Rydes Hill contacted Creative Play to assist in their two part playground project. Kathryn, school bursar wanted to get some ideas and designs together to put forward to the pupils for a final decision. They wanted the old metal adventure kit replacing with new play equipment to compliment the aesthetics of the natural surroundings. Kathryn liked the idea of a Tower System and Trim Trail items to give the children plenty of opportunity for physical play.
Our Trim Trail items require skill and ability to negotiate and are designed to comply with Ofsteds requirements for physical development. Designed to develop upper and lower body strength, improve agility and coordination and increase stamina, these popular adventure trails provide children with hours of fun, no matter what their level of fitness.
We created several designs including Trim Trail items and Tower Systems to demonstrate the different ways in which we could transform the area. The children and staff decided on a design consisting of a Heartwood Tower, Gripped Rope Walk, Jelly Board, Log Walk, Crawling net and Stepping Logs which we designed within a mulch pathway. The colours of the equipment and surfacing worked perfectly and gave the area a real woodland feel. In a separate area we installed a Jungle Climber to further promote physical play as well as a basket swing to provide inclusive play for all.
