Pinfold Street Primary School

We were contacted by Pinfold Primary as they had set some money aside to develop their playground used by Key Stage 1 & 2 children. The schools vision was to create an area that encompassed a mixture of physical play equipment to promote active play at the school, as well as surfacing allow for all year round use. They also wanted to include a quiet area that could be used at breaks and lunch time whilst providing an opportunity for outdoor learning.

DESIGN
From the it was clear that physical activity was to play a big part in this design. For the Key Stage 1 area we selected items including our Clyde Activity Centre and Zenith Nautical paired with some of our Springer’s and Teepees. Playground favourites such as these cater perfectly for the slightly smaller children and promote imaginative play. For the Key Stage 2 children we proposed a Jungle Climber Midi which with no defined route promotes unstructured, challenging play. To add to this we added a Dart to further encourage physical play and a Story Telling Area to provide space for outdoor learning. Using Rubber Mulch we surfaced around the equipment, using different colours to create clear play zones.

INSTALLATION
The area for development at Pinfold Street Primary was part of a grass field that offered a blank canvas. Our talented sales and design teams worked closely with the school to produce an innovative and exciting design with a mixture of play equipment that transformed the look of the school playground.

There was a lot of surfacing involved in this project and all of the teams worked extremely had to ensure a smooth installation that came in on schedule and caused no disruption to the day to day running of the school. The staff and children were extremely pleased with the finished playground, a fantastic job and a credit to all involved.
