BRIEF: Padiham St Leonard’s CE Primary School contacted Creative Play looking to add a selection of sports equipment onto an existing tarmacked area for the whole school to benefit from. The school wanted to brighten up the area, provide something challenging for the children and include some form of surfacing within the design. DESIGN: We had a reasonably large area to work with on the project and managed to add a whopping 8 pieces of Trim Trail products including Swinging Grips, an Overhead Ladder and Leap Frog Posts into the area. To support the sport features, a Stopwatch Playboard was also added to the area to encourage competitive play against other children and themselves, adding a element of fun during break times and PE lessons. Artificial Grass safety surfacing was then laid beneath the equipment to ensure the new area met BSEN 1176/1177 safety standards and to also add a touch of vibrancy. This was achieved by adding a selection of coloured Artificial Grass, known as Colour Play, in a semi-circle within the area – this gives a great wow factor and definitely brightens up the space. INSTALLATION: We are well-known for our Trim Trail items here at Creative Play, so creating a sports-focused circuit was a great project to have been part of. The safety surfacing really brightened up the area and the semi-circle of brightly coloured grass was a great addition. Overall a fantastic project to have been a part of!
