Drew Primary School

Wythes Road, London, London, E16 2DP

Coloured Bar

BRIEF: Wanting to provide climbing equipment for its Key Stage 2 pupils, Drew Primary School got in contact with Creative Play. They wanted to create an impressive play area with numerous pieces of equipment that would promote physical play as well as accommodate large groups of children.

DESIGN: To create a challenging, yet age-appropriate, play area we selected our impressive 2m high Jungle Climber Combi - without Slide to act as the main focal point of the play space. With features such as a criss-cross climber, cargo net an spiral climber, there are lots of different elements to promote risky play. Alongside this, we included a number of our more challenging trim trail items such as our Overhead Ladder as well as two sunken trampolines.
To ensure the new playground would meet all British and European safety standards, we laid Wetpour Safety Surfacing throughout the play space. Our classic black Wetpour was used as the main background colour and contrasting splashes of red, blue and green were used to highlight the equipment and create different play zones.

INSTALLATION: Overall, the project for Drew Primary School was an exciting one to be a part of and the final playground looks fantastic.
With a large variety of play equipment and safety surfacing to install, it was of paramount importance that everyone worked wll together to ensure a successful outcome.
The development looks incredibly impressive and I’m certain that the pupils of Drew Primary School will love their new KS2 play area for many years to come!
