Enhancing Early Years Play at Marden Lodge Primary School in Caterham

Marden Lodge Primary transformed their early years playground, by installing two bespoke play structures, including a bespoke Scafell Pike play tower, and an bespoke Adventure Trail 6 L-Shaped on artificial grass safety surfacing. The upgraded space supports safe, imaginative play, helping young children develop physical skills, coordination, and social interaction from an early age.

Customer Objectives

The school wanted to transform their plain concrete early years playground into a safe, engaging, and inspiring space. Marden Lodge commissioned two bespoke play structures, including the Scafell Pike tower, along with interactive features like a chalkboard, playground markings (from Rocket Day, Caterpillar A-Z and Snake 1-10 to name a few), and a Playtown Panel Fuel Station, creating a safe, stimulating area for young children.

Playground Development Challenges & Solutions

With a compact footprint, the design required careful planning to fit multiple bespoke elements while maintaining safety and accessibility. The layout optimises climbing, role-play, and creative exploration, with soft artificial grass ensuring a safe surface. Each feature was positioned to maximise play opportunities and encourage early years learning in a small space.

The completed playground offers a vibrant, dynamic environment where children can climb, explore, and role-play. The Scafell Pike tower, second bespoke structure, chalkboard, playground markings, and Playtown Panel Fuel Station foster physical coordination, social interaction, and creativity. The upgraded space transforms the previously plain area into a fun, engaging hub for early years development.
