Llithfaen Playing Field Committee identified an opportunity to enhance local play provision by creating a well-equipped outdoor space for children and families within the village. As a remote rural community in Gwynedd, providing access to quality recreational facilities locally was an important consideration, reducing the need for residents to travel elsewhere to access a varied play experience.
The completed playground delivers a broad range of play opportunities within a compact footprint. At the heart of the scheme are two multi-play units, including the Ben Nevis Two Tower System, providing a focal point for the play area and encouraging repeat use. These are complemented by a basket swing, double swing with toddler seat, seesaw and two spring riders, ensuring the space caters for a wide range of ages and abilities.

A key feature of the project is the aerial runway, an item more commonly associated with larger destination playgrounds. Its inclusion provides a distinctive attraction for local families and enhances the overall appeal of the site. The addition of a Red Dragon Spring Rider also reflects the playground's Welsh setting and contributes to a strong sense of place within the community.
The result is a well-rounded community play facility that expands local recreational opportunities, supports outdoor activity and provides a valuable asset for residents for years to come.
