Knop Law Primary School has transformed its outdoor play area with the installation of a new Water and Mud Play zone, Adventure Trail 6, and Clyde Activity Centre. Designed to encourage imaginative, active and sensory play, the new equipment provides pupils with exciting opportunities to explore, build confidence and develop key physical, social and cognitive skills through outdoor learning.

Customer Objectives

Knop Law Primary School set out to enhance its outdoor space with a focus on active, imaginative and sensory-rich play experiences. To achieve this, the playground was developed with a Water and Mud Play area, Adventure Trail 6, and Clyde Activity Centre, giving pupils varied opportunities for exploration, physical development and collaborative play.

Playground Development Challenges & Solutions

The challenge was to create a well-balanced play space that catered to different styles of play while making the most of the available area. By carefully positioning each piece of equipment, the design provides clear play zones for sensory exploration, climbing and physical activity. The layout encourages children to move naturally between activities, supporting both independent discovery and group play.
