An Exciting Playground Upgrade for Ammanford, Carmarthenshire

Ammanford Town Council wanted to enhance its community play space with exciting, challenging and inclusive equipment that would encourage children to stay active, build confidence and enjoy outdoor play. Working closely with our design team at Creative Play, the project was carefully designed to provide a varied and engaging playground for children of different ages and abilities.

The installation included a bespoke 3 Tower Jigsaw Tower, a double seat swing set featuring both a basket seat and flat seat, a wheelchair-inclusive roundabout, two spring riders, and a further bespoke 2 Tower Jigsaw Tower. Together, these features provide a variety of opportunities for climbing, swinging, spinning, balancing and imaginative play, while supporting physical development, confidence and social interaction.

Outcome

The playground upgrade has revitalised the existing space, creating a more engaging and inclusive area for children and families to enjoy.

Working closely with Ammanford Town Council, Creative Play delivered an exciting mix of new equipment that has given the community a refreshed space for play and activity.

Customer Objective

The local council wanted to upgrade its existing community play area with a varied mix of exciting and inclusive equipment, creating a more engaging space where children could be active, develop confidence and enjoy outdoor play.

Playground Development Challenges & Solutions

The project required a range of equipment that would add play value while making the most of the existing space. Working closely with Ammanford Town Council, Creative Play designed and installed a two bespoke Jigsaw Tower's, alongside a double seat swing with a basket seat and flat seat, wheelchair-inclusive roundabout, Dragon Spring Rider, Motorbike Spring Rider, Talk Tube, Solo Spinner and seesaw.

The play area was finished with blue Wetpour safety surfacing, providing a durable and safer surface beneath the equipment while adding a bright finish to the upgraded space.

Results: A Refreshed and Inclusive Play Space

The completed upgrade has revitalised the existing playground with a wider variety of play experiences, creating a welcoming space for children and families to enjoy together.
