What We Learned From The Land, Leisure & Tourism Show 2025

PLUS: How To Access Exclusive Farm Show Offers

Across two lively days the Land, Leisure and Tourism Show 2025 brought us together with farmers, holiday park owners, and attraction park managers from across the UK, all eager to explore how play can enhance their family offerings and boost visitor experiences. It was a more intimate event this year, delivering enthusiasm, innovation, and conversation in a smaller, but more focused setting.

‘The previous year saw us make quite a statement with our huge red tractor, bold exhibition space, and winning an award for sustainability’ explains Simon, an outdoor play expert from Creative Play, ‘but our instincts this year were to shift the tone slightly’.

Opting for a more considered presence, focus was placed ‘on value and variety, represented perfectly by our DART Activity Centre, an extremely popular piece of playground equipment that allows for a wide range of play’.

It proved to be the right move.

While there were many exhibitors displaying centrepiece installations, ‘our approach stood out by celebrating a proven favourite. Farm show attendees were drawn to the DART’s natural timber aesthetic and were impressed by its multiple points of entry because it can accommodate many children at once‘ says Simon. ‘It seems to be an important factor for visitor attractions at the moment, with many attendees saying they want to maximise engagement’.

A More Refined Intent Event

Conversations felt more purposeful than previous years, with attendees showing a real curiosity about play value over spectacle.

There was a noticeable change in those from the farming community. With diversification continuing across the agricultural sector, many farmers were eager to explore how play spaces could become part of new income streams. ‘Whether through farm shops, cafés, or small visitor attractions, it’s a growing trend and we were happy to share ways rural enterprises can draw in families and extend stay time’.

A Call For Continued Support Led The Conversation

Among the most frequent talking points this year were quality and durability. ‘Many attendees shared frustrations about investing in cheaper equipment that needed replacing within a few years’ highlights Simon. ‘They want outdoor play equipment built to last, that can withstand heavy seasonal use while maintaining appeal year after year’.

Maintenance arose frequently as a topic at the show. ‘With little time to manage repairs or replacements, many attendees voiced a need for reassurance that their investment wouldn’t be forgotten once installation was complete, that ongoing support, repairs, and compliance updates would be just a phone call away’.

Creative Play have a strong track record of supporting customers long after initial installation, and an Aftercare representative was on hand at the show to explain their maintenance packages. ‘It was clear that long-term value is now a top priority for operators across the sector,’ reports Simon, ‘and that’s something we can help them with’.

Cost-Conscious Attitude To Expansion

Despite tighter budgets and ongoing economic caution, the overall tone at The Land, Leisure & Tourism Show 2025 was optimistic. Exhibitors and visitors alike were looking forward to a busy tourist season ahead, with families expected to continue seeking out local experiences.

For many, upgrading their play offer wasn’t just a ‘nice-to-have’, it was key to remaining competitive. ‘The appetite for value-led, lasting play is stronger than ever’ concludes Simon.
