Design, Process & Installation
How long will I have to wait for my design and quotation?
Timelines depend on the size of your project and whether a full 3D design pack is required.
For straightforward enquiries, we can usually provide a quotation within 48 hours if needed. However, for more detailed projects, we take the time to ensure everything is right, and a full proposal pack is typically delivered within 2–3 weeks.
Once I’ve ordered, how long do I have to wait for installation of my playground equipment the begin?
We will always work with you to achieve your preferred installation timeline. Demand for school playground equipment is often highest during school holidays, so this can be a particularly busy period for us. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with installation typically commencing within 4 weeks of order.
If installation outside of school holidays is possible, lead times can often be much quicker. As we manufacture all of our playground equipment in-house, we are able to control production schedules without relying on third-party suppliers.
Playground safety surfacing can often be installed within 1 week of order, as it does not require manufacturing. As with any construction project, installation timelines may be affected by weather conditions.
How long will my playground installation take?
Installation times can vary depending on the size and complexity of your project. As a general guide, most playground equipment and safety surfacing installations are completed within 1–2 weeks.
Smaller projects may take just a day or two, while larger schemes can take longer. Once your order is placed, our installation team will talk you through the process and provide a clear indication of timescales.
Before work begins, one of our surveyors will visit site to review the project with you and ensure everything runs smoothly, with no unexpected surprises. Please note that installation, particularly safety surfacing, can be affected by weather conditions.
Have you installed any playground equipment projects near me?
Over the past 20+ years, Creative Play has installed playground equipment at more than 10,000 locations across the UK, including schools, holiday parks, nurseries, parish council parks, pubs, and visitor attractions.
With such a wide national footprint, there’s often a project we’ve delivered within just a few miles of you — and very often even closer.
Can you remove my existing play equipment?
Absolutely, we can remove any existing play structure as part of a new playground project.
We can also provide costs for the safe removal and responsible disposal of existing playground equipment and surfacing, ensuring a smooth transition for your new installation.
Products & Equipment
What sort of safety standards does your playground equipment meet?
All of our playground equipment and outdoor play area installations are designed to meet and exceed British and European Standards (BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177).
Once installation is complete, we carry out a thorough inspection before handing the site over, ensuring everything is safe, compliant, and ready for use. Our surveyors are fully qualified through the RPII (Register of Play Inspectors International), giving you complete confidence in the quality and safety of every project.
Do I need playground safety surfacing?
This depends on a number of factors, but as a general rule, an impact-absorbent surface should always be provided.
In some cases, this can be achieved with well-maintained grass (up to a CFH of 1.5m). However, where equipment is installed on tarmac or other hard surfaces, we would always recommend the installation of a playground safety surface.
For tailored advice, our experienced playground advisors will be happy to assess your site and advise whether safety surfacing is required for your project.
Are there any products suitable for a residential garden?
Yes, our playground equipment can be installed in a wide range of locations.
However, our products are designed for commercial use and are built to meet BS EN standards, meaning they are larger, more robust, and typically more costly than standard residential play equipment.
What space does your playground equipment need?
Our range of playground equipment includes everything from compact play panels and sensory products, through to large tower systems and climbing frames.
Most of our equipment, including trim trails and tower systems, requires an appropriate operating area to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Full technical details, dimensions, and layout diagrams are available on all product pages. Alternatively, our team will be happy to provide further guidance if needed.
Can I personalise any of the equipment?
There are several ways to personalise your playground project to suit your desired look and identity.
For example, you can choose the colour of our Playtec panels to complement school uniforms, or incorporate your school crest or company logo for a bespoke finish. This level of customisation can also be achieved through inlaid surfacing designs and colour schemes.
In addition, our fully modular tower systems, including the Jigsaw range, allow you to take control of the design process and create a bespoke layout tailored to your exact requirements. There are many ways to make your play area truly unique.
Do you have any equipment suitable for Key Stage 3/4 and adults?
Yes. Many of our sports and fitness products are specifically designed to meet the needs of teenagers and adults. This includes our metal and timber outdoor gym equipment, Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs), goal ends, and sports panels.
We also offer a wide range of outdoor classrooms, shelters, and seating solutions suitable for users of all ages, helping to create inclusive spaces for learning, socialising, and recreation.
Why should I choose timber equipment?
There are many benefits to choosing timber playground equipment, including:
Aesthetics – Timber blends naturally into rural and landscaped settings, offering a more sympathetic, organic look compared to brightly coloured metal equipment.
User-friendly – Timber remains comfortable to touch, staying warmer in winter and avoiding the excessive heat associated with metal in summer.
Sustainable – Our timber is sourced from FSC-approved UK suppliers, ensuring it is grown, harvested, and processed ethically and sustainably.
Low maintenance – Timber structures require minimal upkeep and do not need re-application of protective coatings to prevent corrosion.
Durability – We offer a 20-year guarantee against rot and infestation, thanks to pressure-treated timber using a chrome- and arsenic-free preservative, delivering excellent long-term performance and lifecycle value.
Do you have inclusive playground equipment?
Yes we do. Our Play For All inclusive range has been developed in collaboration with a leading SEN school to ensure play is accessible for children of all abilities.
The range includes nine innovative play towers, five sensory-focused pieces, and 35 additional components, all designed to support inclusive play experiences. Each element is created to encourage curiosity, build confidence, and develop key physical, social, and sensory skills, helping every child to engage and enjoy play in their own way.
