How to Set Up a Storytelling Area

• Start with a small area – you can always add to it later!
• Add our storytelling circle, which is perfect for group story telling. It encourages children to sit facing each other, which promotes social interaction and communication.
• Add our storytelling chair, which is a great addition for individual story time. It allows children to curl up and get comfortable while they listen to a story.
• If you have the space, add some trees or bushes around the perimeter of the area to create a natural barrier and further encourage imaginary play.
• You can also add toys or props to the area to help bring the stories to life!
• Finally, make sure to stock the area with plenty of books! This can be done by adding a small bookshelf or bin filled with books that are appropriate for the age group that will be using the area.
• Encourage children to use their imaginations and have fun!
