Roadway Playground Markings
Teaching children what the different road signs mean in a safe environment such as a school playground, can help children understand their importance and follow the rules of the road.
One way to do this is to add different thermoplastic playground markings to the playground, which represent different parts of the road.
For example, you could add thermoplastic stop signs, no entry and one way playground markings to various locations throughout the playground to create roadways.
This gives children a chance to learn about and practice, following the rules of the road in a safe environment before they encounter real traffic.
Physical Activity & Playground Design
Of course installing thermoplastic road markings in educational playground settings such as primary schools, should not just be about learning. It’s a place for kids to let loose, have fun and is a great alternative and or addition to traditional playground games.
Children can create the most imaginative games when given space and playground markings to use, and what’s more, when the games incorporate physical movement, they are getting valuable exercise too.
So when you are planning your playground and selecting roadway playground markings, consider how they could be used to encourage physical activity and play.
Here are just a couple of examples:
Add the following thermoplastic markings to create the perfect street…
- Lollipop Lady
- Ice Cream Parlour
- Car Park
- Shop
- Zebra Crossing
- Traffic Lights
The following playground markings are perfect for creating an airport themed playground…
- Airport With Plane
- Car
- Car Park
- Helicopter
- Give Way
- Plane
Or why not let children pretend they are part of emergency services with….
- Police Car
- Police Station
- Ambulance
- Fire Engine
- Fire Station
- Hospital
You could even add different road safety signs, so while children are stopped at the different road markings you’ve installed, you can encourage them to do some physical activity such as star jumps, jogging on the spot or even a quick game of hopscotch.
This will help to keep them alert and focused when it’s time to start moving again.
The possibilities are truly endless, but our design team is here to help you create the perfect playground for your needs should you require assistance.
