Customer Objectives
The school wanted to create a more engaging outdoor environment, introducing equipment that would encourage pupils to stay active, develop new skills and enjoy a wider variety of playground activities.
The aim was to combine physical challenges with opportunities for creativity and sensory exploration, making the most of the existing playground and providing something for pupils with different interests.
Playground Development Challenges & Solutions
The key challenge was to introduce a varied selection of play opportunities within the existing space, making use of the available structures and surfaces while catering to different interests.
The solution included bespoke basketball hoops designed to suit the children’s sizes, making the activity more accessible and enjoyable for pupils. The Spey Climbing Frame provides a key feature of the playground, allowing multiple children to climb and play on the same piece of equipment while maintaining clear sightlines for staff supervising the area.
Alongside the Rota-Roka, it offers further opportunities for physical activity, while the drum kit playboard, chalkboard and Water Wall encourage creativity, experimentation and sensory exploration.
