Bekesbourne Parish Council in Canterbury, Kent, has introduced a new range of playground equipment to encourage active, social and inclusive outdoor recreation. Featuring an Adventure Trail 12 (L-Shaped), wheelchair-inclusive roundabout and accessible picnic seating, the development creates more opportunities for local families and visitors to play, connect and enjoy their outdoor surroundings.

The aim was to create a varied outdoor space that caters to different ages, interests and abilities. By combining physical play with opportunities for social interaction, the project brings together accessible equipment, traditional playground activities and features that encourage families to spend time together outdoors.

Creative Play brought together a mix of active play equipment, accessible seating and interactive games to cater to different needs and interests. The Adventure Trail 12 (L-Shaped) and triple spring rider introduce opportunities for climbing, balancing and movement, while the wheelchair-inclusive roundabout supports shared play. The picnic table and games facilities provide quieter alternatives, with grass mats installed to create a practical surface around the adventure trail.

Following site assessment and planning, our Kent install team carried out the installation of the new playground equipment and grass mats. Each feature was positioned to bring together active play, accessible facilities and interactive activities, making the most of the available space. From the Adventure Trail 12 (L-Shaped) to the wheelchair-inclusive roundabout and picnic table, the completed installation provides a varied setting for children and families to enjoy.

The completed development offers a mix of physical challenges, inclusive play and social activities. The Adventure Trail 12 (L-Shaped) encourages movement and coordination, while the triple spring rider adds another playful option. The wheelchair-inclusive roundabout, accessible picnic table and games facilities provide further opportunities for people to play and spend time together.
