Creative Play delivers the design, manufacture, and installation of outdoor playground equipment for local authorities, town councils, parish councils, and community organisations across the UK.

Projects range from small village play areas to large-scale parks and regeneration schemes, all focused on creating inclusive outdoor spaces that support long-term community use.

Public Sector Playground Delivery

Council-led playground projects require careful coordination of safety, budget, usage and community expectations.

Decisions often need to satisfy multiple stakeholders while remaining practical to deliver and maintain.

To support this, each scheme is developed with a focus on:

  • Safe, compliant design
  • Realistic budget alignment
  • Inclusive access for all users
  • Long-term usability and upkeep
  • Appropriate levels of challenge and engagement

Working Across Different Local Authority Types

Local Authority

Local authorities typically manage larger public realm and regeneration projects, including parks, housing developments and destination play spaces. These schemes often sit within wider strategic plans and involve multiple stakeholder groups.

Play provision is shaped to support wider outcomes such as improved public space usage, community wellbeing and long-term asset value.

Town Councils

Town councils are typically responsible for community parks and recreation spaces. that are highly visible and expected to deliver a strong public impact within defined budgets.

Play spaces are designed to maximise engagement, accessibility, and long-term value for residents.

Parish Council

Parish councils typically manage smaller village play areas that remain central to local communities. Priorities often focus on cost control, reliability and ease of ongoing management.

Solutions are developed to remain practical, low-maintenance and suitable for long-term community use.

Community Groups & Voluntary Organisations

Many playground projects for community groups are delivered through grants, fundraising or phased investment. These schemes often require flexibility in scope. Support is provided to develop practical, achievable designs that align with available funding.

Safety & Compliance

All equipment and installations are delivered in line with BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177 safety standards.

Compliance is considered from the design stage, with careful attention given to layout, fall heights, surfacing requirements, and age suitability to support safe installation and ongoing use.

Funding & Delivery Considerations

Public playground projects are often shaped by budget cycles, funding constraints, or staged investment approaches. Design development takes these factors into account to ensure proposals remain achievable, proportionate, and aligned with available resources.

Social Value and Community Benefit

Well-planned play spaces contribute to wider community outcomes, including increased outdoor activity, improved social interaction and better use of public spaces. These benefits support broader goals around health, wellbeing and local place value.
