Wanting to create a vibrant playground with Wetpour Safety Surfacing, Stormont School requested that Creative Play incorporate a number of game designs into their new surfacing to add play opportunites without the need of play equipment. With a strong idea of what they already wanted, we enjoyed working with Stormont School, translating their wants and needs into a reality.
Firstly, they specified that the main Wetpour colours should be red and blue, so they would match the existing fencing, sheds and playhouse, and that all additional play features should be in bright contrasting colours to make them really stand out.
A central roadway design acted as the main focal point, ideal for both play and improving road safety awareness, while playground classics such as a 1-10 hopscotch and target would provide the Stormont pupils with even more open-play opportunitites.
Overall the final development at Stormont School is very impressive and truly proves that you do not need play equipment to create a successful playground.
