Denton West End Primary School

Denton West End Primary School wanted to relocate the Key Stage One playground from the front of the school to an expansive grassed area at the rear. They required the whole area to be resurfaced and wanted new equipment to integrate all areas of play-based learning whilst being visually appealing.

DESIGN Denton West End project was a fast-paced and exciting development to work on. The key emphasis was to make the area look visually attractive whilst also creating a functional and challenging environment for children across the large existing space.

The open wetpour area allows the children to be creative and imaginative; enabling them to use the inlaid wetpour designs, such as the maze and alphabet spiral, for ‘learning through play’. The trim trail zone is for physical play and designed to build strength, confidence and agility. The mulch surfacing also gives a natural look to the area.
The Trim Trail in particular was designed through collaboration with the school, allowing us to be specific to their needs and requirements throughout the whole project.

INSTALLATION Planning and preparation were paramount on this project due to the size of the playground area.
A large chunk of time was spent preparing the site for installation, but as a result the outcome was incredible. The skill of our installers and the quality of the material used produced an outstanding vibrant all-weather play area that is both challenging and engaging and will last for years. It was a pleasure to be involved with such an impressive project and it’s a credit to our installers.
